🇺🇸 We Remember.
Today, we pause to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the courage of first responders, and the resilience of our nation.
May we never forget the impact of that day, and may we continue to teach the values of unity, compassion, and strength to the next generation.

The Suwannee County School District is excited to announce a new service initiative designed to teach students the value of citizenship, volunteerism, and community connection. Service learning is more than just volunteering - it's about helping students. We want our students to develop empathy and compassion and be able to see the world from another's perspective. We also want them to build responsibility and leadership by taking an active role in helping others. Helping our students understand how small acts of service contribute and why they matter builds a stronger, healthier community.
All students in grades 6-12 will participate in Suwannee Steps Up. Branford High School, Suwannee High School, and Suwannee Middle School each chose a community organization that they would like to benefit from this service project. Students will donate specific items in the months of September, October, and November - all requested items can be purchased for $1.00 or more - and help to sort and organize donations for their school's chosen recipient. In December, a representative from each community organization will visit the school that chose them and talk to the students about what will be done with their donations a n d the value and importance of their service.
We believe service is most impactful when families and schools work together. Parents are
encouraged to:
• Join their child in service activities.
• Talk about Suwannee Steps Up and the importance of giving back at home.
• Share local volunteer opportunities with their school.
By the end of the first semester in December, every student at Branford High School, Suwannee High School, a n d Suwannee Middle School will have participated in a project that highlights the importance of being active, caring citizens. Together, we hope to cultivate a culture of service that will last far beyond t h e classroom. This district-wide initiative reflects our commitment t o helping students grow not only academically but also as responsible and compassionate members of society. We are proud of our students and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in our community.
