The 2024-2025 Student Ambassadors were announced at the August 27th Suwannee County School Board Regular Meeting. Representing Branford High School will be senior Ashley Morales and junior Charlotte Dunn for Suwannee High School.
These two students were chosen to represent their classmates and schools after coming highly recommended for the position by their peers and administrative staff.
There roles will include reporting to the Suwannee County School Board at the monthly board meetings to keep them in touch with what is going on at their respective campuses. They will be able to make suggestions and comment on various policies that will impact them and their future.
Dunn, who is familiar with the roles and responsibilities of the student ambassador says, “I am so thankful to have this opportunity to work with school board members and educators alike and also get a greater understanding of all of the hard work it takes to make Suwannee County Schools some of the best in the state.”
Suwannee County School Board Member District One representative and Chairman of the board, Jerry Taylor, spoke fondly of the program and his high expectations for the 24-25 representatives. Taylor says, “As the Board we need to be aware of and attentive to how Federal and State legislation as well as Board policy and procedures affect our students. Having student ambassadors present in our Board meetings enables them to have a voice at the table in the decision making process, most importantly, to me, is when our ambassadors share their schools recent events and activities.”
Congratulations to Ashley Morales and Charlotte Dunn on being chosen for this leadership role.
